Kink features a brace of novellas from two up-and-coming authors. In Saskia Walker’s Sex, Lies And Bondage Tape, Kelly sneaks backstage after a gig to get an autograph for a friend, and instead finds herself having a punishing encounter with the band’s head of security, Tommy Samson. What starts off as a one-night stand turns into an erotic pursuit across London, but can the resolutely single Kelly admit that she really wants something serious from Tommy?
In Sasha White’s Watch Me, Beth finds that exhibiting herself to strange men gives her a thrill which is missing from her mundane marriage. When her husband, Greg, finds out how much flashing turns her on, he encourages her to do riskier things, but how far are they both prepared to go to recapture what’s gone missing in the bedroom?
These are two nicely written and entertaining tales mixing BDSM pleasures with a romantic love story. Watch Me is probably the better of the two, as the characters are in a genuinely believable situation with a dilemma that has to be resolved if the couple is to get their marriage back on track. Meanwhile, Saskia Walker makes a point of thanking various people who’ve helped her do her research into the music business, but she doesn’t really offer any insight into the profession, concentrating instead on the sub-dom dynamic between Tommy and Kelly.
One for the ladies, definitely.
